Prerequisites
The course is devoted to those interested in evolution of terrestrial vertebrate assemblages within the Tertiary and Quaternary periods.

Course objectives
The course summarizes up to date information concerning the investigation of Tertiary and Quaternary amphibian and reptile assemblages. Students get an idea on the distribution of Tertiary and Quaternary herpetofauna on the basis of the fossil material which was discovered in several localities. Participants will be familiar with the application of herpetological species as indicators of paleoenvironmental characterization of selected localities.
