Course objectives
The aim of lectures is the introduction in biology.
Syllabus
  • 1. Biology, biological studies, history of biology, biological sciences. 2. Chemical structure of live systems, biogenic elements, water, minerals, aminoacids, proteins, peptides, sacharids, nucleic acids, lipids, enzymes. 3. Cell, structure and functions of vegetal and animal cell. Cell theory. Cell structures a their functions: cytoplasmatic membrane, endoplasmatic reticulum, Golgiho complex, lysosomes, peroxisomes, mitochondries, chloroplasts, cytoskeleton. 4. Protozoa, fungi, bacterias, viruses and prions, their characteristics and structure. 5. Live cycle of cell and its regulation, generative and vegetative reproduction. Unicellular and polycellular organisms, carcinogenesis, mutagenesis, tumors. 6. DNA and cell, the role of DNA in cellular regulations, genetic nomenclature, replication, transcription, translation, regulation of expression, mutation, polymorphisms and their implications, nonsense DNA. 7. Animal tissues, organs and organ systems. System of skeleton and integument, digestive system , respiratory system, nervous system, excretion system, muscular system, vascular system, sexual system. 8. Nutrition and vitamins 9.
