Course objectives
Introduction to economics. Market, market mechanisms. Demand, supply and market equilibrium. The price system, elasticity of demand. Substitution and income effect. Perfect and imperfect competition. Theory of consumer behaviour. Consumer equilibrium. Short- and long run costs, profits and costs. General Equilibrium and the efficiency of Perfect Competition. Imperfect competition - monopoly, oligopoly and monopolistic competition. The price of labor. Interest, rent and profits. Equilibrium on market of means of production.
