Course objectives
Statistical estimation of parameters of finite populations based on sampling surveys. Sampling plan and its characteristics: simple random sampling with returns and without returns, Poisson sampling and its rejective version, sampling with returns and its rejective version, Sampford-Durbin sampling, systematic and successive sampling. Linear estimate of the population average and total, Horwitz-Thompson estimate, Hájek's estimate. Regression and ratio estimate. Stratified sampling, optimal allocation. Nonresponse in sampling surveys.

  • Statistical estimation of parameters of finite populations based on sampling surveys.
