- Course objectives
- The main objectives of the seminar are the following:
making students aware of the latest results obtained at the Department of Molecular Biophysics and Pharmacology, Institute of Biophysics, v.v.i., Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Brno of the studies of molecular mechanisms underlying antitumor effects of transition metal-based complexes;
making students aware of current fundamental research in molecular biophysics and pharmacology including modern methods of analysis of biomacromolecules and their interactions - Syllabus
- Basic topics:
- cytotoxicity of osmium, platinum and ruthenium complexes;
- DNA interactions of osmium, platinum and ruthenium complexes;
- structure of nucleic acids and their interactions;
- DNA repair;
- spectroskopic and thermodynamic methods of analysis of biomacromolekules and their interactions;
- molecular biology methods of analysis of biomacromolecules and their interactions
