- Course objectives
- Main objective of the course is to give basic informations about environmental problems in karst fields. The course is aimed to the students of master programs.

- Introduction:
- Straw stalactite destruction:
- Straw stalactite falling, mechanical damage, natural/anthropogenic influence
- Karst soils:
- Soil profile, soils on limestones, acidity, humin species, CO2 production, vegetation impact, seasonal/climatic influence.
- Speleothem corrosion:
- Corrosion of outer wall, water condensation, condensation corrosion, anthropogenic impact Cave Microclimatology:
- Cave dynamics, ventilation, inner/outdoor conditions, seasonal impact, anthropogenic impact.
- Cave atmosphere:
- Carbon dioxide levels, radon, microclimatic parameters
- Hydrogeochemistry of dripwaters:
- Major/minor elements, acidity, alkalinity, saturation index, carbon dioxide partial pressure Geochemistry of calcite-water interaction:
- Elementary processes, equilibrium, partial equilibrium
- Cave aerosol:
- Morphology, composition, season impact, speleotherapy.
