- Course objectives
- This course of lectures continues in the systematic exposition of the theory of teaching mathematics on the high-school level. The standard topics of the high-school math curriculum in the Czech Republic will be presented and discussed from the didactical point of view. The theoretical explanations will be atttached by solving many sample problems and exercises. Additional forms of teaching gifted pupils will be considered too. At the end of the course, students should be ready for teaching secondary school mathematics from the point of its contents as well as the methods of practise.
- Syllabus
- Preparation of students for teaching standard topics of high-school math: Complex numbers, Equations and inequalities, Functions and their graphs, Planar and Solid Geometry, Vector algebra, Analytic geometry of linear and quadratic set points, Sequences and Series, Basic notions of probability theory and statistics and their applications, Combinatorics and graph theory, Foundations of Infinitesimal Calculus.
