- Course objectives
- This is the first semester of a two-semestral course to study the first chapter (written by Don Zagier) of the book The 1-2-3 of Modular Forms.
At the end of this course, students should be able to understand basic notions concerning modular forms and some applications. - Syllabus
- 1. Basic definitions;
- 2. Eisenstein series;
- 3. Theta series;
- 4. L-series.

- Lectures: theoretical explanation of modular forms including their applications into number theory. Homeworks.

- Credit will be given in the case of the active work in seminars - the study of the mentioned book during the term, regular solutions of homeworks, work with the software package PARI.
