Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to provide students with information on reasons and methods of hydrological forecasting related to crisis situations and to rational water management.
Syllabus
  • 1. Basic terms. 2. Classification of hydrological forecasting. 3. Requirements on content and quality of hydrological forecasting. 4. Organization of flood, warning, and forecasting hydro-meteorological service in the Czech Republic levels of flood activity, SPA limits, flood plans. 5. Integrated rescue system, crisis management. 6. Flood characteristics of the Czech Republic. 7. Basic processing of background data for hydrological forecasting. 8. Hydrometric forecasting. 9. Hydrometeorologic forecasting. 10. Hydrosynoptic forecasting. 11. Forecasting models. 12. Evaluation of errors and effectiveness of hydrological forecasts.
