Course objectives
At the end hereof course student will be able to understand and illustrate: Anthropic and environmental aspects of entomology. Paleoentomology, exobiology. Biomonitoring. Pollinators. Forensic and military entomology. Raw materials. Bionics. Cultural entomology. Medical, veterinary, agricultural and forest entomology. Entomology of stored products and food factories. Non-chemical pest control, biological control, transgenous plants, radiation, radioactivity, microorganisms. Biodiversity changes, protection of insects.
Syllabus
  • Anthropic and environmental aspects of entomology. Paleoentomology, exobiology. Biomonitoring. Pollinators. Forensic and military entomology. Raw materials. Bionics. Cultural entomology.   • Specializovaná učebnice neexistuje a vzhledem k mnohooborovému pojetí kurzu nelze podávat výčet literatury po oborech.
  • Specialized textbook is missing due to a wide conception of the course, it is impossible to quote specific literature here for all branch.
Teaching methods
Theoretical lectures with practical parts based on pests and other important groups of insects. Students prepare own oral presentation.
Assessment methods
Final presentation, own theme from Applied entomology. Oral exam, identification of the pests and other insect material
