Course objectives
Regional geography, regional science, regional policy, regional development and regional planning. The basic documents of the European Community about spatial and territorial planning. The definition of problem areas, the characteristics of labour market. The programs of the economic and social development of problem areas.
Syllabus
  • Lecture synopsis: 1. Definition of basic terms, development of regional policy 2. Regional policy in context of main economic theories 3. Contemporary approaches to regional policy, policy of Economic and social cohesion 4. Principles, objectives and tools of regional policy of the EU 5. Regional policy in the Czech Republic and EU admission, Strategy of regional development of the Czech Republic 6. Development strategies and programmes as a tool of regional policy 7. Project cycle at the level of programme and project 8. Programme documents and their practical financing 9. Thematic delimitation of supported activities in the Programme period 2007 – 2013 10. Preparation of development project – information, institutions, applicants, application of public support rules and public order rules 11. Preparation of development project – project concept, logic framework, application 12. Preparation of development project – feasibility study, assessment of financial and economic effectiveness 13. Preparation of development project – marketing analysis, areal preparedness, risk analysis, EIA Seminar synopsis: 1.
