- Course objectives
- The main objectives of the course are the following: acquainting students with the database basic with respect to their role in GIS. students acquire query and definition language SQL in relational and post-relational databases making students aware of manipulation with spatial data in above mentioned databases making students aware of document oriented databases

- 1. Base database models 2. Principles of realtional and postrelational DBMS 3. Relational database design (Chen diagram, data types, keys, normální formy) 4. Definition part of SQL 5. Query part of SQL - introduction 6. Query part of SQL - functions and aggregates 7. Query part of SQL - theta join 8. Object databases 9. Document oriented databases 10.
