Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to: understand geological map, prepare geological cross-section, use geological compass and interpret orietational data. At the end of the course students should be able to: use geological compass, read geological map and construct geological cross-sections. They are prepared for Mapping course in the field.
Syllabus
  • Used map projections and topographic map, preparation of topographic profile. Geological compass, orientation measurement. Geologic map, geologic map symbols. Some special geologic maps. Geological mapping, equipment for mapping. Geologic map interpretation, V-rule, three point problem, structure section. Geological bibliography. Some special methods.
