Course objectives
In the seminar chemical properties of derivatives of organic molecules and their chemical transformations on various examples are explained and exercised . The aim of the course is to teach understanding of the mutual influence of the functional group and the carbohydrate skeleton in organic complex molecules.
Syllabus
  • 1. Halogen derivatives. 2. Hydroxy compounds-alcohols and phenols. 3. Ethers - structure and chemical nomenclature. 4. Thioles and sulfides. Sulfine and sulfonic acids. Sulfoxides and sulfones. Sulfonic acids functional derivatives. 5. Esters of mineral acids (sulfates, nitrates, nitrites, phosphates). Aminocompounds. 6. Quarternary ammonium salts. Diazacompounds. Diazoalkanes. diazoesters,diazoketones. 7. Nitrocompounds. Azocompounds. Azoxycompounds and hydrazocompounds. Nitriles and isonitriles. 8. Metalorganic compounds. 9. Carbonyl compounds. 10. Sacharides. 11. Carboxylic acids and their functional derivatives (esteres, halogenides, amides, anhydrides). 12. Substitutional derivatives of carboxylic acids, lactones, laktides, aminoacids. 13. Carbonacids derivatives. Steroides. 14. Heterocyclic compounds.
