- Course objectives
- Teaching takes place in Centre for Molecular Biology and Gene Therapy IHOK LF MU / FN Brno and combines lectures by current molecular biological approaches used in medical practice, especially in cancer diagnosis, with practical examples of analysis of patient samples. Student is able to describe the use of molecular biological methods in hemato-oncology. Students are able to apply their knowledge in other studies and in practice.
- Syllabus
- Theoretical Background: The use of molecular genetics in oncology and hematology modern methods of analysis of the human genome
- Practical part: isolation of DNA / RNA from blood, PCR techniques and real time PCR, minimal residual disease, detection of DNA of infectious pathogens, working with cell cultures, DNA chips (expression, aCGH, resekvencing), immunofluorescent labeling of monoclonal antibodies, general clinical hematology, flow cytometric analysis of T-and B-lymphocytes of peripheral blood, immunomagnetic separation of hematopoietic stem cells, other techniques according to the interest and ability of laboratories.
