- Main objectives can be summarized as follows: to intermediate the first contact with the range of issues of human geography; to expose particular sub-disciplines through the problem-oriented approach; to motivate specialization of students later during their Bachelor's or Master's studies.

- 1. The role of place and space in the social science.
- 2. The nature of geographic phenomena. Geography within the system of sciences.
- 3. Methods and techniques in geography.
- 4. Concept of demographic transition. Contemporary demographic development.
- 5. Agriculture in the world, commodities and foodstuff production.
- 6. Energetic resources.
- 7. Spatial changes of production. Fordism and flexible accumulation. Economic globalization.
- 8. Transport and spatial interactions. Transportation modes. Transportation impacts.
- 9. Spatial mobility and its forms.
- 10. Urbanisation and settlement systems.
- 11. Political geography and geopolitics.
- 12. Cities and urban structure, city models
