- The course is also offered to the students of the fields other than those the course is directly associated with.
- fields of study / plans the course is directly associated with
- Chemistry of Conservation - Restoration (programme PřF, B-CH)
- Chemistry of Conservation - Restoration (programme PřF, N-CH)
- Course objectives
- The course will provide students with basic knowledge of natural polymer based materials usable for applications in conservation and restoration of culture heritage and also in the other area of chemistry, their history and the present. Students will be able to choose suitable polymeric materials, or any combination thereof, for applications in conservation and restoration of culture heritage and also in the other area of chemistry. To make sense of the chemical reactions of nature polymers and understand their influence on the properties of so modified nature polymers. The students will be familiar with industrial processing of the natural polymers. To understand the difference between natural and synthetic polymers. To be able independently analyze the role of the nature polymers in the current world. The Students should be encouraged to study the natural polymers chemistry in more detail. Students should be able to independently increase (master) the knowledge of this subject.
