- Course objectives
- The objective of the course is to deepen and to enlarge geographical knowledge of Asia. Physical geography of the continent is a key prerequisite for understanding links between natural resources and economy. At the same time it helps to understand natural hazards. Human geography part of the course is aimed at interpretation of demographic processes, urbanization, and economic transformation which is under way in contemporary Asia.
- Learning outcomes
- The student has deeper knowledge of the world's largest continent. Physical-geographic characteristics of Asia are, in many ways, the key to understanding the close link between natural conditions and economic specialization, while contributing to understanding the risks of natural hazards. He has gained a basic insight into the culture and society of the largest cultural regions of the continent in the human-geographic section of contemporary processes of demographic development, urbanization and economic transformation in Asia.
