- Course objectives
- Teaching takes place in Center for Molecular Biology and Gene Therapy IHOK LF MU / FN Brno and Department of Clinical Hematology (OKH) and combines lectures by current molecular biological approaches used in medical practice, especially in cancer diagnostics, with practical examples of analysis of patient samples. Student is able to describe the application of molecular biological methods in hemato-oncology and to apply this knowledge in ongoing studies and in practice.
- Learning outcomes
- Student is able to use selected molecular biological methods in hemato-oncology and to apply this knowledge in ongoing studies and in practice.
- Syllabus
- Theoretical Background: The use of molecular genetics in oncology and hematology modern methods of analysis of the human genome • Practical part: isolation of DNA / RNA from blood, immunomagnetic separation of blood cells, PCR techniques and real time PCR, detection of minimal residual disease, detection of infectious pathogens using PCR, DNA next-generation sequencing – analysis of exomes and amplicones, immunofluorescent labeling using monoclonal antibodies, flow cytometric analysis of T-and B-lymphocytes from peripheral blood, other techniques according to the interest and ability of laboratories.
