- Course objectives
- The course is an introduction to topics important in the field of tourism geography. Seminars focused on acquiring practical analytical methods are an integral part of the course. Learning outcomes can be summarized as follows: competence to analyze basic tourism phenomena and processes; competence to apply basic methods of tourism research; competence to interpret basic results of tourism research.

- 1. Introduction (terminology, types of tourism, geography of tourism).
- 2. Origin and development of tourism.
- 3. Spatial distribution of tourism in the world.
- 4. Spatial distribution of tourism in the Czech Republic.
- 5. Resources of tourism.
- 6. Supply and demand in tourism (motivations of tourism, mass tourism and new forms of tourism consumption).
- 7. Economic, social and environmental impacts of tourism.
