Practical training of calculations in modern of biophysical chemistry techniques
Learning outcomes
Students will be able not only to analyze current scientific knowledge in the field of experimental biophysical-chemical methods but also to distinguish their possible application into BFCH research.

  • Spectral techniques
  • 1. Absorption spectroscopy (UV-Vis and circular dichroism)
  • 2. Luminescence spectroscopy (fluorescence and phosphorescence)
  • 3. Vibrational spectroscopy (infrared and Raman spectroscopy)
  • 4. X-ray spectroscopy
  • 5. Nuclear magnetic resonance and Mass spectrometry

  • Techniques focused on thermodynamics, kinetics and electrochemistry
  • 6. Thermodynamic methods
  • 7. Kinetic methods
  • 8. Separation techniques (chromatographic and electromigration methods)
  • 9. Bioelectrochemical methods

  • Computer simulations and data evaluation
  • 10. Quantum chemistry of biologically relevant compounds
  • 11. Modelling of biomolecules
  • 12. Validation of theoretical models using experimental data
