Course objectives
Geoarchaeology for geologists is the brief introduction into the interdisciplinary discipline dealing with the formation processes in Quaternary. The important key factor during landscape formation in the Holocene are humans, therefore the attention is paid also to the interactions between humans, climate and the landscape formation.
Learning outcomes
At the oend of the course, Student will be familiar with:
- formation processes of the Quaternary terrestrial deposits;
- anthropogenic deposits;
- terminology;
- methods used for the understanding of Quaternary deposits;
- field methodology.
Syllabus
  • Introduction; formation processes of quaternary deposits; antropogenic deposits; soils; field techniques; laboratory techniques, case studies; student projects.

Assessment methods
Dased on discussion after the presentation of their own projects. In the case of a crisis pandemic situation, the course will be completed in the autumn semester of 2020 by distance form.
