- Znalost anglického jazyka na úrovni B1 ERR - odborný jazyk. Kurz je určen pro studenty biologie, biochemie, antropologie a RECETOX.

- Course objectives
- The course oobjective is to deepen students' knowledge of the English language. This will be done through topics which are relevat to students' fields of study. In the course, students work with authentic scientific texts through which they will improve their vocabulary and grammar. The course gives an emphasis to communication skills which will be practised in discussions, talks, small gropu work / pair work and presentations. In the course, students will listen to and/or watch podcasts and videos with topics related to science. The course alsa wants to improve students' writing skills, namely writing an abstract to a scientific paper. Other genres of academic/scientific writing will be practised as well.
- Learning outcomes
- After the completion of the course the student should be able to: understand authentic chemical texts at B2 level of CEFR understand spoken discourse concerning chemical topics at B2 level of CEFR communicate on a special topic at B2 level of CEFR skim the text and understand its general meaning scan the text and find a piece of specific information formulate the main ideas of the text summarize relevant information inform about one´s studies and research evaluate the relevancy of job descriptions in advertisemets tailor one´s CV to a selected position write a letter of job application behave at a job interview describe a process present scientific topics from more than one point of view apply the acquired skills to new scientific topics
