Course objectives
At the end of this course, students should be able to: prepare the source documents in LaTeX system; create tables and figures and integrate them into the final document; typeset mathematical oriented texts; publish mathematical texts on the Web; create a presentation with mathematical text.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, students should be able to: prepare the source documents in LaTeX system; to use basic typographic rules for the typing of Czech mathematical texts; create tables and figures and integrate them into the final document; typeset mathematical oriented texts; divide text into chapters, sections, ...; define mathematical environments for theorems, definitions, proofs; create a list of used literature and cite according to the current standard; publish mathematical texts on the Web; create a presentation with mathematical text.

  • A short history of TeX and LaTeX.
  • The Structure of a LaTeX Document, source file, page layout.
  • Phrases and paragraps, list structures.
  • Tables, using fonts.
  • Higher mathematics, multiple-line equation structures, the theorem enviroment.
  • Portable graphics in LaTeX, using PostScript.
  • The Web and LaTeX, Portable Document Format, HTML.

Teaching methods
Teaching in this semester will be distance, records of lectures with a projection of computer output will be available in IS MU, exercises will take place on students' home computers. A practical task will be given at each exercise. Submit tasks using the Overleaf web application.
Assessment methods
It is necessary to solve all regularly assigning tasks in exercises and handle the practical test on a computer at least with 50% success rate.
