- Course objectives
- Main objectives can be summarized as follows:
to understand classification of plant threats;
to delineate of biotopes of the Czech Republic, their conservation and management;
to analyze of threatened species with relevant types of management;
to know Hot spots of plant biodiversity over the World. - Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course students should be able to: - know main principles of evaluation of endangered plant species; - understand methods of effective species conservation and know main management methods of various natural biotops.
- Syllabus
- Red list. Red book.
- Criteria for classification of the species threats: local lists, regional lists.
- Extinct species of the Flora of the Czech republic.
- Threats of habitats - threatened species of the Flora of the Czech republic: bogs, fens, saline habitats, mesophilous and hygrophilous meadows, alpine grasslands, xerophilous grasslands, woods, swamps, vegetation of water macrophytes.
- Threatened anthropic habitats: weeds, ruderal vegetation.
- Examples of threatened species, causalities of their regress, active management of habitats and species.
