- The discipline is devoted to students of physics teaching.
Absolving the course a student obtains following abilities and skills:
Basic laboratory and technical skills.
Knowledge of the mechanics at the introductory level.
Ability to prepare and perform demonstration experiments of the mechanics which can be done at home laboratory using common toys, household and hobby materials. - Learning outcomes

- 1. Revision of rudiments of Newtonian mechanics: Quantities characterizing the motion of bodies Reference frames; Equations of motion; Work and mechanical energy; Momentum and angular momentum; Momentum laws and conservation laws; Motion of rigid bodies; Fluid mechanics; 2. Basics of engineering drawing
- 3. Laboratory skills:
- Basics of metal craft, wood craft:
- Drilling; cutting; connecting; soldering; gluing; laminating;
- 4. Demonstration experiments:
- Newton's laws, (water rocket, air rocket. pinq-pong ball cannon);
- Hydrodynamics; Bernoulli's principle (ball suspended above and in PET bottle funnel; a ping pong ball suspended in the tilted air stream; flow in bent pipe)
- Motion of rigid body; (gyroscope with counterweights; precession; gyroscope on rope);
