The course is intended for students of 3rd year of Bc. study, Mgr. and doctoral studies, where students need to learn the preparation of special preparations.
In the case of registration higher than the capacity of the class, preference is given to those who have a special reason to complete the course (e.g., a diploma thesis that uses special preparates or a large number of thin sections). - Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is only offered to the students of the study fields the course is directly associated with.
The capacity limit for the course is 4 student(s).

- Course objectives
- Aim of the course is understanding and practical skills to use the methods of preparation of geological sections and mounts, including possibilities and limitations of individual approaches.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course, student will know preparation methods and will be able to prepare basic types of rock sections and mounts used in geological research – thin section, polished thin section, polished mount (polished section). Students will also understand possibilities and limitations of individual methods.
