- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the current issues of changes and degradation occurring in the pedosphere and the expansion of basic knowledge of pedogeography.
- Learning outcomes
- The student will become familiar with the current degradation processes occurring both on a global and local scale. He will be able to describe the changes in soil properties in these processes.

- Soil functions Physical, chemical and biological properties of soil Soil quality and degradation - indicators, resistance, soil resilience Forms of soil degradation - main factors, time-space variability, measures, examples from the world, from the Czech Republic - brownfields - Soil sealing - desertification - erosion - soil compaction - loss of soil organic matter, decline in biodiversity - acidification - salinisation - soil contamination - degradation of permafrost Influence of climate change on pedosphere - carbon cycle Soil monitoring Soil legislation Information resources on soil
