- Course objectives
- The course summarizes the main ways of fieldwork geologist including field preparation. In terrain methods it is essential emphasis on geological documentation, compass measurements and geological mapping.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students should be able to: use geological compass, read geological map, prepare geological cross-sections and interpret orientational data. They are prepared for Mapping course in the field.

- Used map projections and topographic map, preparation of topographic profile.
- Geological compass, orientation measurement.
- Geologic map, geologic map symbols. Some special geologic maps.
- Geological mapping, equipment for mapping.
- Geologic map interpretation, V-rule, three point problem, structure section.
- Geological bibliography.
