- Course objectives
- At the and of this course, students should be able to: excercise the main optical methods working on the individual diploma problems of students
- Learning outcomes
- Student will be able to: - apply optical microscopy of minerals and rocks in solving the topic of his diploma thesis thema
- Syllabus
- The instruction has the nature of consultations, pertinent to petrological work.
- It is focused on practical tasks, ensuing from the theme of diploma thesis, namely: micropetrographic analyses, quantitative mineralogical analyses,
- rock classifications, grain-size measurement, porosity
- microstructural and textural petrological characteristics
- thermogravimetry and its application
- X-ray diffraction study of rocks and its application infrared spectroscopy and its application in petrographically oriented work
- electron microscopy and microanalysis
- The instruction is modified according to needs of the diploma students in individual classes
