The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The aim of this seminar is to support future teachers of mathematics by giving them some concrete examples of mathematical analysis to explain the usefulness of mathematics to their pupils/students.
Learning outcomes
After this subject a student will be able to explain some practical applications of mathematical analysis to his pupils/students.
Syllabus
  • Solving problems using extreme of functions in one or more variables.
  • Autonomous systems of differential equations in the plane.
  • Examples of partial differential equations.
  • Integral transformations (Fourier, Laplace).
  • Line integral.

Semester paper explaining to a reader on the level of a secondary school student a chosen example of a practical application of mathematical analysis.
