- 1. Introduction:
- Charakterization of microorganisms.
- Principles of bacterial physiology: metabolismus, growth. 2. Carbon flux in aquatic ecosystems - the role of bacteria and other microorganisma in various situations in the ecosystem. 3. Geochemical cycles of nitrogen, phospohorus and other elements. 4. Methodology of water microbiology:
- Number and biomass.
- Activity, growth, production.
- Taxonomy and determination methods. 5. Function of bacteria in various types of aquatic ecosystems:
- Lakes and reservoirs.
- Running waters.
- Ground waters.
- Sediments and biofilms.
- Artificial systems.
- Controlled biodegradation. 6. Health and hygienic aspects. 7. Fate of allochtonnous microorganisms in the environment.
