  • 1. Introduction:
  • Charakterization of microorganisms.
  • Principles of bacterial physiology: metabolismus, growth. 2. Carbon flux in aquatic ecosystems - the role of bacteria and other microorganisma in various situations in the ecosystem. 3. Geochemical cycles of nitrogen, phospohorus and other elements. 4. Methodology of water microbiology:
  • Number and biomass.
  • Activity, growth, production.
  • Taxonomy and determination methods. 5. Function of bacteria in various types of aquatic ecosystems:
  • Lakes and reservoirs.
  • Running waters.
  • Ground waters.
  • Sediments and biofilms.
  • Artificial systems.
  • Controlled biodegradation. 6. Health and hygienic aspects. 7. Fate of allochtonnous microorganisms in the environment.
