- Course objectives
- Microwaves - between optics and electronics. Propagation of waves, waveguides, parallel lines, coaxial lines. Phase velocity, critical wavelength. Resonators. Propagation of microwaves in dielectrics, ferrites and plasma. Generators of very high frequencies. Vacuum tubes - triode, magnetron, klystron, travelling wave tubes. Semiconductor devices - PN junction, varactors, avalanche diodes, PIN diodes, Gunn diodes, transistors. Application of microwaves - home, industry, science, army.
