- Course objectives
- Analysis of water, silicate materials, metals, alloys, soils and biological materials. Practical decomposition and determination of analytes.
- Syllabus
- 1. Water analysis. Determination of pH, CHSKMn, ZNK, KNK. 2. Determination of chlorides and sulphates. 3. Determination of calcium and magnesium, nitrites or fluorides. 4. Determination of arsenic by HGAAS, ammonia or phosphates. 5. Analysis of metals and alloys. Analysis of steels - determination of chromium and manganese. 6. Analysis of aluminium alloys - determination of copper or iron. 7. Analysis of silicate materials. Decomposition of samples, determination of SiO2. 8. Determination of aluminium, calcium and magnesium. 9. Determination of iron and titanium. 10. Analysis of soils - determination of phosphorus. 11. Analysis of biological materials. Low temperature dry ashing - determination of calcium. 12. High temperature dry ashing - determination of chromium. 13. Wet ashing at normal pressure - determination of zinc in hair. 14. High pressure digestion - determination of calcium in milk.
