- Course objectives
- This lecture aims to teach how to analyse biological data using modern univariate statistical methods, mainly Generalised LInear Models and Linear mIxed-Effect Models.
- Syllabus
- 1) Introduction: Statistical software. R environment. 2) Exploratory data analysis: Data frames. Types of data. Tables and graphs. Moments. 3) Esperimental design: Randomised. Nested. Split-plot. Latin squares. Pseudoreplication. 4) Statistical modeling. Distributions. 5) Analysis of data using normal distribution. 6) Analysis of data using gamma distribution. 7) Analysis of data using Poisson distribution. 8) Analysis of data using negative-binomial distribution. 9) Analysis of data using binomial distribution. 10) Analysis of data using binary distribution. 11) Survival analysis. 13) Mixed models: Transformations. Split-plot and nested design. Repeated measures.
