- Prerequisites
- The class will build on the knowledge learned at Bi5040 Biostatistics - basic course, so student who has already passed this course will be advantaged. Further recommended courses: Bi6549 Processing basic botanical data, Bi7540 Data analysis in community ecology. Vizualization of biological data is complementary to Bi7920 Analysis of biological data - both courses are focused on work with R program, but while Analysis of biological data is devoted to data analysis, Vizualization focuses on graphical presentation of the data.
- Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is also offered to the students of the fields other than those the course is directly associated with.
The capacity limit for the course is 10 student(s).
Current registration and enrolment status: enrolled: 0/10, only registered: 0/10, only registered with preference (fields directly associated with the programme): 0/10 - fields of study / plans the course is directly associated with
- Systematic Biology and Ecology (programme PřF, B-BI, specialization Systematic Botany and Ecology)
- Systematic Biology and Ecology (programme PřF, N-BI, specialization Botany)
- Systematic Biology and Ecology (programme PřF, N-BI, specialization Systematic Botany and Ecology)
- Course objectives
- The class should teach you how to draw effective graphical output of your data, using R program. The first several hours using method of “simple idiot's guide” you will get familiar with basic syntax of this language and with basic work in R program to be able create graphical output. The training will proceed from the simple to more complicated methods: we will start with simple diagrams showing relationship of two variables, which would be much easier and faster done in Statistica (and you will wonder, what's all this business about). Step by step you will learn how to modify these diagrams and you will find that R program is really very flexible in sense of customizing the diagrams to perfectly fit your demands. In the end we will proceed to more special graphical methods as composite trellis diagrams or 3D ordination diagrams.

- Assessment methods (in Czech)
- Výuka bude probíhat v počítačovně v Řečkovicích přímo u zapnutého počítače s Rkem - co se studenti dozvědí, to si ihned vyzkouší.

- The course is taught once in two years.
- Teacher's information
