Course objectives
Practical introduction to classical procedure of organic compounds analysis, which are the basis of instrumental methods, and to instrumental separation techniques suitable for analysis of organic compounds.
Syllabus
  • 1. Interpretation of spectra of organic molecules. 2. Orientation tests, qualitative elemental analysis, classification and group reactions, physical constants determination of organic compounds. 3. Semimicrodetermination of carbon and hydrogen. 4. Volumetric determination of nitrogen according to Dumas and Dubsky 5. Microdetermination of sulphur according to Schöniger. 6. Gas-liquid chromatography: determination of caffeine derivatives. 7. HPLC: determination of caffeine derivatives. 8. ITP: determination of glutamic acid. 9. Fluorimetry: determination of quinine in tonic water.
