- Předpokladem je absolvování základních přednášek z Anorganické chemie I (C1061), Anorganické chemie II (C2062), Organické chemie I (C2021), Organické chemie II (C3022), Biochemie I (C3181) a Biochemie II (C4181). Je výhodné návštěvovat kursy Bioanalytika I - Biomakromolekuly (C7940), Bioanalytika II - Analytické metody v klinické praxi (C7070) a Biofyzikální chemie (C5850), není však podmínkou.

- Hlavním úkolem interdisciplinárního předmětu je, aby se studenti seznámili s koordinační chemií biologicky aktivních organických molekul (např. aminokyseliny, oligo- a polypeptidy, proteiny a metaloproteiny, sacharidy, nukleosidy a nukleotidy, nukleove kyseliny, alkaloidy, aj.). V kursu bude prezentován význam detailních znalostí složení, struktury, termodynamických a kinetických vlastností komplexů iontů kovů s biomolekulami za účelem lepšího pochopení molekulárně biologických jevů v přírodě. Cílem přednášky je taktéž zpřístupnění studijní literatury, databází a software pro široké použití ve výzkumu a praxi s návazností na rychle se rozvíjející obory chemie, biochemie a biologie (např. bioanalytická chemie, medicínská a farmaceutická chemie, speciační analýza, toxikologie, biofyzikální chemie, aj.).

- Introduction to subject, importance for practice - biospeciation. Speciation-definition, examples, aplication.
- Theoretical description of chemical equilibria important for speciation modelling in biocoordination chemistry.
- Experimental methods in biocoordination chemistry. Chemical model determination.
- Acidobasic properties of bioligands (nomenclature, acidobasic and complexing properties of bioligands on molecular and submolecular level - macro- and micro- equilbria, importance for practice).
- Complexing properties of aminoacids (acidobasic properties, coordinating aspects of metal ions by aminoacids, survey of complexing properties of aminoacids - bi- and tridentate aminoacids, aminoacids derivatives and their complexing properties, ternary complexes).
- Complexes peptides and their derivatives (acidobasic and complexing properties of peptides, complexes of Gly-oligopeptides, peptides with non-coordinating and coordinating O or N donor atom of side chain, His peptides, complexes of peptides with sulphur as donor atom).
- Thermodymamic and kinetic aspects metaloenzymes and metaloproteins (mechanism of metal ion bonding and dissociation in metaloenzymes and metaloproteins, mechanism of bonding and release of small ligands - inhibitors, substrates in metaloenzymes and metaloproteins, structural models of enzymes based on coordination compounds).
- Complexes of saccharides and ligands with sugar component (general properties, coordination equilibria - complexes of saccharides of low molecular weight, glucofuranosides, saccharide acids, aminosaccharides, macromolecular saccharides; structure and bonding -complexes of mono-, di- a oligosaccharides, complexes of saccharide acids and saccharides with donor nitrogen atomem, dimeric and polymeric complexes; redox properties).
- Interaction of protons and metal ions with bazes of nucleic acids, nukleosides and monophosphátes of nucleosides (introuction, complexation of purine and their 9-substituted derivatives, complexation of adenosine and adenine, complexation of 6-oxopurinu and their nucleosides, complexation of cytidine and cytosine, complexation of 4-oxopyrimidine and their nucleosides, bonding on sugar component of ribonucleotides, complexation of nucleoside of 5-monophosphate, thermodynamics of protolytic and complexation equilibria, correlation stability-bazicity, interaction between ligands).
- Therapeutical utilization of coordination compounds. Development and application of new drugs based on complexes. Diagnostic utilization of coordination compounds (MRI, luminiscence and radioisotope probes).
- Experimental and numerical methods applied for biospeciation determination.
- Utilization of struktural and biocordination motifes in supramolecular chemistry and bioanalytical chemistry.
