- Course objectives
- Student will be trained in application of computers for data acquisition, processing and presentation. The aim is to promote computer literacy; knowledge and skill gained are necessary prerequisite for further studies, completion of bachelor thesis and for future profession.
- Syllabus
- 1. Introduction. Application of MS Excel program for data evaluation. 2. ORIGIN - software for data visualization, graphs generation and data analysis 3. Statistical software (e.g. STATISTICA, Statgraphics, ADSTAT) 4. QC Expert - software for statistical quality control and for statistical data analysis 5. Interface instrument - computer, data input and output 6. Introduction to programming (text and graphical programming languages) 7. PC as a virtual instrument - LabView 8. Software tools for data presentation (e.g. MS Word, MS PowerPoint, ADOBE Acrobat) 9. Internet tools (www and ftp servers, web page generation) 10. Computer security (hardware and software) 11. Other applications of computers in analytical laboratory (e.g. MathType, Isis Draw)
