- Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is also offered to the students of the fields other than those the course is directly associated with.
- fields of study / plans the course is directly associated with
- General Biology (programme PřF, N-BI, specialization Physiology of Animals)
- Course objectives
- After the succesfull completion of course, students should be able to: - discuss the problematics of microscopic strucure of individual tissues and organs. - work with information to link the knowledge of microscopic anatomy to macroscopic anatomy and to physiological processes. - assess structural changes initiated by experimental conditions or pathological processes in laboratory praxis.
- Syllabus
- Histology
- epithelial tissues, connective tissues, muscular tisuuse, nervous tissue Microscopic anatomy
- digestive system, respiratory system, excretory system, reproductive system, locomotory apparatus - skeletal system, muscular system. Circulatory system - conducting system of the heart blood vessels, lymph vessels, immunity, endocrine system, nervous system - central nervous system, peripheral nervous system, autonomic nerves, receptor organs, intengumentary system - integument proper dermal and epidermal structures.
- Literature
- literature is recommended by lecturer
- APRIL, Ernest W. Anatomy. Illustrated by Anne Erickson - Salvatore Montano. 2nd ed. Baltimore: Williams & Wilkins, 1990, xiii, 610. ISBN 068306200X. info
- Teaching methods
- Interspecies comparison is brought out on model species of reptiles, birds and mammals. Furthermore, specialized staining methods and their use in research will be introduced to students during practical training. Erudition of tissues and organ microscopic structure enables students to explore structural changes initiated by experimental conditions or pathological processes. Integral component of the lecture is practice (Bi8200 Microscopic anatomy of vertebrates - practice).
- Assessment methods
- verbal examination
- Language of instruction
- Czech
- Further Comments
- The course is taught annually.
