- Course objectives
- The main objective is to provide a general overview of the crustacean morphology, biology, diversity and phylogeny; for selected crustacean groups special, currently researched topics will be presented. Special attention will be paid to the following groups: Cladocera, Copepoda, Ostracoda, Stomatopoda, Caridea, Brachyura, and some little-known marine crustacean groups (Mystacocarida, Remipedia, Cephalocarida, Tantulocarida). Practical exercise, focused on comparison of the main body types (dissection) and an inspection of material of selected brachyuran species, will be included. The lectures are partly held by external specialists.
