- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to undestand the methods of study of the human skeletal remains and primarily the methods of study of the living man.
- Syllabus
- 1. Skeletal system. Types of human bones. Identification of bones and teeth (permanent and decidual dentition).
- 2. Sex and age determination from skeletal material. Morphoscopic and morphometric methods.
- 3. Calculation of MNI (minimum and maximum number of individuals).
- 4.Somatoscopy.Descriptive characters on the head. Descriptive characters on the body.
- 5.Dermatoglyphics.Fingerprinting. Evaluation of fingerprints.Fingerprints and chromosomal aberrations.
- 6. Anthropometry. Measurement of basic body measurements, counting indexes. Anthropological researches in Czech republic.
- 7. Composition of the human body. Evaluation of optimal weight (BMI, FMI, Rohrer index, WHR index).
- 8. Typology of body building. History of typology. Variability of human body building.
