- Course objectives
- Brno becomes a major technology center of the Czech Republic and local companies are expected to offer jobs in R&D positions also to graduates of physics courses. Physics in business offers series of presentations of both small dynamic companies and branches of international companies who gradually transfer their research project to Czech Republic. Besides the description of various industrial applications of physical knowledge students should learn also about economical and management issues of technology research. We plan to include also presentations of several institutes of the Academy of sciences located in Brno.

- FEI, Brno – transmission electron microscopes, nanotechnology
- Honeywell International, Brno – control and automatisation for industry and household
- ON Semiconductor, Rožnov pod Radhoštěm – semiconductor components, silicon crystalisation
- Rigaku Innovative Technologies Europe, Ltd., Praha - X-ray optics, detection and analysis
- Tescan-Orsay hld., Brno - scanning electron microscopes, lithography

- lectures of invited representatives of companies and institutions, discussion

- Students exhibiting low presence at seminars and/or excursions will be required to prepare a text (3-5 pages) about research presented in the course.
