Teaching methods
Lectures are held with help of powerpoint presentations with map illustrations. Students have to elaborate seminar thesis - terrain mapping of chosen territory with mapping of biope types, actual and potential vegetation, elaborating of relevé. A half-day excursion to interesting localities in Brno surroundings is held instead of 4 class excercises. Students are to prepare geographical information on the excursion territory.
Assessment methods
Exam is oral with possibility of written preparation. Quality of seminar thesis gives cca 30% of final mark. Knowledge of woods and some plants important from biogeographical point of view gives cca 20% of final mark. Student must bring and present his/her notes from the excursion to the seminar tutor.
