Course objectives
The aim of the course is to make students acquainted with the analyses of spatial organisation of socio-economic system of Europe. Basic geographic characteristics of space. Population and human settlements. Territorial structure of economy and structure of branches. Industry, Agriculture, Transport, Tourism and recreation in the European space. Main axis and regions of development - macroregions of Europe.
Syllabus
  • Physical geography of Europe.
  • Geographical boundaries of Europe against Asia, differnt conceptions. Population of Europe and superficy of Europe (with different possibilities in Russia). Structure of European population. Europe after the fall of bipolar model of the World.
  • Regional geography of European counties (inclusively European part of Russia, Slovakia, exclusively the Czech Republic).

Teaching methods
The basic Teaching methods are lectures, supplemented about contemporary methods such example e-learning. The course consists also homeworks of students to the actual subjects.
Assessment methods
Lectures are in the czech language. The test termination of this course is written tests from the Physical and Human geography of Europe.
