- Course objectives
- The aim of this seminar is to practise the topics which were discussed in the course of Mechanisms of organic reactions (C7410).
- Learning outcomes
- Students will be able to solve tasks from the field of the reaction mechanisms of organic molecules.
- Syllabus
- 1. Art of writing the reaction mechanism. 2. How chemistry studies the reaction mechanisms. 3. Reactive intermediates. Radicals, carbebes, nitrenes etc. 4. Pericylic reactions. Selection rules. 5. Nucleophilic aliphatic and aromatic substitution. 6. Eliminations. 7. Electrophilic aromatic substitution. 8. Additions to C=C bond. 9. Reactions of carbonyl compounds 10. Rearrangements. 11. Free radical reactions. 12. Oxidation and reductions. 13. Transient metal catalysis. 14. Photochemical reactions.
