Course objectives
Overview of typical SW products for image processing of remotely sensed data is presented. Both professional and freeware products are mentioned. Typical structure and functionality of selected systems is outlined with the stress on their strong and week features. Relation to the GIS software products is mentioned. In practical part examples of application are presented for those systems accessible at the Institute of geography.
Syllabus
  • 1. Overview of the main SW products for image processing (IP) of remotely sensed data. 2. General structure of SW for digital image processing 3. Basic concepts and philosophy of the IP systems 4. Relations to GIS software possibilities of data exchange, supported vector and raster formats 5. Particularities of the selected systems, strong and weak features 6. Examples of concrete application
