Course objectives
This course shows to the students how to use information technologies in biology practice. The emphasis is put on searching and storage of scientific articles; usage of text and table processors on basic and advanced level including fundamentals of statistic data evaluation; preparation of scientific presentation.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, students should be able to:
- use MS Windows and MS Office on advanced level;
- use informations to collect scientific literature, write bachelor or diploma thesis;
- design presentation or poster;
- basic evaluation of scientific data

Teaching methods
Practical lectures in PC room, operating different versions of the software. Examples of bachelor and diploma theses, posters, presentations.
Assessment methods
Credits are granted for active participation at three practical lectures, attendance of the other lectures is not mandatory but recommended for fluent understanding of the educated subjects. Assessment includes solving different tasks on PC - preparation of presentations, posters or other documents according to the templates. Final examination is also available.

General note: Předmět je určen výhradně pro studenty PřF (zejména studenty biologických oborů), ne pro studenty jiných fakult!.
