- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to present selected technologies of topographic and thematic map processing. Students will be able to use the basic GIS tools for creating maps and independently manage the process of creating a map of a selected topic.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will be able to:
- Interconnect the knowledge from the cartography, geoinformatics and geodatabases;
- use advanced tools of GIS;
- marter the process of the map production. - Syllabus
- 1. Definitions. 2. Data sources and licencing. 3. Spatial data handling 4. Basic data analysis. 5. Selection of the Cartographic visualization method. 6. Map Legend design. 7. Creation of the Map composition. 8. Map finalization and publication.
