Course objectives
At the end of this course, students should be able to: - design and correctly perform real-time PCR experiment, including appropriate template, chemistry, and instrumentation manipulation - evaluate absolute and relative quantification data
Learning outcomes
After attending this class, the students are able to isolate RNA, perform reverse transription as well as real-time PCR including data analysis.

  • Absolute (AQ) and relative (RQ) quantification Template preparation and handling; isolation of total and poly(A)RNA; reverse transcription, RT-PCR (5'nuclease assay, SYBR green) Primary data analysis, outputs, statistics MIQE standards (Minimum Information for Publication of Quantitative Real-Time PCR Experiments)
